These days, I find myself interested in developing new techniques for taking pictures. Since a large majority of what I take pictures of are stills, I’ve always used the AF-S mode (AutoFocus-Single point). However, I believe it is imperative for people to learn all the tools of their trade in case its usage were to appear in unexpected situations. That is why I took my camera with me… to the dog park.
Yes, they prove to be one of the most difficult things to take pictures of as they just will never stay still. That’s why I’m taking pictures of them. One of the auto focus modes, AF-C (Auto-Focus Continuous), constantly changes focus by trying to predict where the subject (that it initially focused on) will go. I’ve read photographers often use this mode for certain jobs such as wedding photography. Although dogs and people in a wedding are two vastly different things, I figured this would be a good chance to become familiar with the focus mode. There are some shots, of course, where I went back to single point mode, but overall a lot of these shots were taken in the AF-C mode.
